§ 6.20.030. Impounded animal—Notification requirements.

  • Within three days after taking up any animal, the animal control officer shall give public notice of the taking and detention. The notice shall contain a description of the animal, the time and place at which the same will be offered for sale, the date upon which the same was taken up, and that if the same is not redeemed by the payment of all costs and fees chargeable against the animal within five days from the date of such notice, that the animal will be sold at public auction to the highest bidder for cash, which notice shall be posted by the animal control officer in at least two public places in the city.
