§ 5.04.035. Distress and special sales.

  • A distress sale is any offer to sell to the public, or sale to the public, of goods, wares or merchandise on the implied or direct representation that such sale is in anticipation of the termination of a business at its present location or that the sale is being held other than in the ordinary course of business. A special sale is a temporary sale of goods, wares or merchandise brought into the city solely for the purpose of conducting the temporary sale. Special sales must be conducted at a single location for a period of three days or less. Special sales may be conducted only in an "F" zone.
