§ 2.44.020. Membership—Appointment.

  • The planning-zoning commission shall consist of seven members. The members shall be appointed by the mayor and with the consent of the city commission for two-year terms. The initial terms of three commissioners shall be for one year in order that no more than four commission terms shall expire in any year. One member of the commission shall at all times be an officer, agent, employee or representative of a public utility operating and performing services within the city. One member of the commission shall at all times be a member of the city commission. In the event of any vacancy on the commission, the mayor, with the consent of the city commission, may appoint a member to fill the unexpired term of the retiring, resigning or removed commissioner. Any commissioner may be removed at any time for good cause by the vote of two-thirds of the membership of the city commission. Four members of the commission shall constitute a quorum for the exercising of the duties of said commission.
