§ 1.12.020. City manager—Notice to neighboring owners or occupants.

    Whenever a variance application relates to land use and has been referred by the city manager to the planning-zoning commission, notice of the proposed variance shall be sent by regular mail to all owners of property within one hundred feet of the property proposed for variance. In addition, the city staff shall post signs on the property at least one week before the variance request is considered, stating the type of change being requested and the date, time and place of the public hearing.

    B.

    The city manager is authorized to determine whether any variance application not referred to the planning-zoning commission will or may cause any adverse effect upon adjoining, abutting or neighboring occupants of property. Should he decide that such an adverse effect will or may result, the city manager shall direct that a notice of the variance application and a notice of the city commission hearing shall be sent to all affected property owners or occupants.
