§ 10.12.010. Heavy vehicles-Prohibited where-Recreational vehicle exception.

  • A.

    It is unlawful for any person to park any truck, tractor, trailer, semitrailer or other vehicle, having a net weight of four tons or more, within any area which is zoned as a RS, R, RA or NC district pursuant to the Clovis zoning ordinance, other than for a reasonable period of time for the unloading and delivery or pickup and loading of materials, merchandise and furniture, and other than for the temporary parking of such vehicle for the purpose of furnishing service to any owner or occupant of property within such zone district.

    B.

    It is unlawful for any person to park any truck, tractor, trailer, semitrailer or other vehicle, having a net weight of four tons or more, within any street right-of-way in any area which is zoned MD, UD or I district pursuant to the Clovis zoning ordinance, other than for a reasonable period of time for the unloading and delivery or pickup and loading of materials, merchandise and furniture, and other than for the temporary parking of any such vehicle for the purpose of furnishing service to any owner or occupant of property within such zone district.

    C.

    The prohibitions of subsections A and B of this section shall not apply to recreational vehicles and motor homes having a gross vehicle weight rating under eighteen thousand pounds which are used for personal, nonbusiness purposes and are parked within the aforementioned zones by the owner, occupant, or guest of the occupant except as prohibited by Section 10.16.020.
