§ 5.16.010. Definitions.

  • For the purposes of this chapter, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section:

    A.

    "Public dance" means any dance operated for the profit of the person conducting the dance and to which the public, generally, is invited for the purpose of dancing and for which a charge is made, directly or indirectly, by the operator of the dance for the privilege of dancing.

    B.

    "Public dancehall" means any building, structure, or tent of any kind or character:

    1.

    In which dancing is permitted by the person operating the dancehall;

    2.

    In which dancing is permitted regularly, not less often than twice each week; and

    3.

    To which the public, generally, is invited for the purpose of dancing.
