§ 2.72.020. Membership.

  • A.

    The committee shall consist of the following members:

    1.

    One commissioner from each commission district, appointed by the mayor with the advice and consent of the city commission;

    2.

    The city manager, city engineer, public works director, a representative of the Clovis Police Department, a representative of the Clovis Municipal Schools, and division heads of the public works department, shall serve as non-voting ex-officio members;

    3.

    Five members of the public.

    B.

    The following rules and procedures shall apply to the five public members:

    1.

    One public member shall be a resident of each commission district, recommended by commissioners of that district, and the remaining public member shall be an at large resident of the city. All public members shall be appointed by the mayor with the advice and consent of the city commission.

    2.

    Public members shall serve a term of two years, which shall be staggered. Initial public members shall determine the initial term by lot.

    3.

    Any public member of the committee may be removed from office by the mayor, with the consent of the city commission after due notice that such member has missed three consecutive meetings or has been absent at fifty percent of the meetings held during any twelve-month period. In the event of any removal under this subsection, the position shall become vacant and shall be filled for the unexpired term of the appointed member in the same manner as set forth herein.
