§ 2.68.150. Theft of book—Defined—Penalty.

    Definitions. For the purposes of this section, the following terms shall have the following meanings:

    1.

    "Library" means the Clovis-Carver Public Library.

    2.

    "Book" means any book, newspaper, magazine, pamphlet, manuscript or other property belonging to the library and which is available for use by the public.

    B.

    Theft of Book Defined. Whoever willfully detains any book belonging to the library for thirty days after receipt of notice in writing to return the same, given after the expiration of the time which by library rule such book may be kept, has committed the offense of theft of a book.

    C.

    Penalty. Whosoever commits the crime of theft of a book shall be subject to a penalty and fines not to exceed three hundred dollars and imprisonment not to exceed ninety days.
