§ 1.20.010. Work required—Remuneration when—Fine payment.

  • Every person committed to the city jail, and every person committed to the county jail for violation of any provision of this code or any city ordinance, shall be required to work for the city under the supervision of the chief of police during the hours between nine a.m. and four p.m., except on Sundays and legal holidays. Persons committed for a term of days shall work without pay or remuneration. Persons committed for failure to pay a fine shall be allowed ten dollars per day for each day's work, to be applied toward the payment of the fine.
